Like most children, I was born with a natural love for animals. I felt I spoke a secret, wordless language with dogs and pigs and sheep. I would feel quiet delight while watching spiders spin webs or birds soar. This love for animals has grown in me as I grew, to be a woman and mother. The oneness I feel we share with animals has inspired many of my sculptures, most made from wood collected from the beaches of Vancouver Island.

I hope this deck will inspire your love of animals and rekindle the feelings of awe and delight that we have as children for them. These unique sculptures honor the spark of life found in all creatures on the earth.
