I have always loved the slow beauty of snails. As a little girl, I would feed them flower petals. At night, I'd watch in admiration as they retreated into their lovely shell homes.

'Snail Woman' was born from this childhood love. She was created with driftwood and an empty snail shell. During her creation, I pondered the Fibonacci sequence, a spiral design found in nature and art. In nature, this design maximizes efficient growth for light and structural strength.

Often referred to as 'The Golden Ratio,' the beautiful spiral is found in the smallest of things, like snail shells, flowers and fingerprints. It also spans into the heavens, seen in the vast galaxies we are just beginning to map and comprehend. I often use this sculpture's image as my company's logo because I feel we are small and fragile like snails, yet part of a unity as vast as the universe.
